Direct Organometallic Synthesis of Carboxylate Intercalated Layered Zinc Hydroxides for Fully Exfoliated Functional Nanosheets

چکیده

Intercalation of organic anions into 2D materials can enable exfoliation, improve dispersion stability, increase surface area, and provide useful functional groups. In layered metal hydroxides, intercalation bulk structures is commonly achieved by cumbersome typically incomplete anion exchange reactions. contrast, here, a series carboxylate-intercalated zinc hydroxides (LZH-R) are synthesized directly, at room temperature, reacting an organozinc reagent with precise sub-stoichiometric quantity the desired carboxylic acid water. A range acids used to make new LZH-R which crystalline, soluble, functionalized, as established X-ray diffraction, spectroscopic, microscopy techniques. When R alkyl ether carboxylate, this direct synthesis method results in spontaneous exfoliation monolayer nanosheets high yields (70–80%) solubilities alcohols water up 180 mg mL?1. By altering carboxylate ligand, groups suitable for post-synthetic modification or detection fluorescence also introduced. These examples demonstrate versatile synthetic route exfoliated nanosheets.

Ab initio Investigation of Layered Double Hydroxides with Intercalated Herbicides

Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) or hydrotalcite-like compounds exist either as naturally occurring minerals or as synthesized materials by low-cost synthesis methods. LDHs consist of positively charged metal hydroxide layers having the composition [M1–x Mx(OH)2][Ax/m ·nH2O] where M and M are divalent and trivalent cations, respectively. The value of x is the molar fraction and can vary between...

Functional intercalated nanocomposites with chitosan-glutathione-glycylsarcosine and layered double hydroxides for topical ocular drug delivery

Background To enhance ocular bioavailability, the traditional strategies have focused on prolonging precorneal retention and improving corneal permeability by nano-carriers with positive charge, thiolated polymer, absorption enhancer and so on. Glycylsarcosine (GS) as an active target ligand of the peptide tranpsporter-1 (PepT-1), could specific interact with the PepT-1 on the cornea and guide ...

Layered Double Hydroxides (LDHs): An Efficient Catalyst System for the Synthesis of Chiral Aminonitriles

Strecker reaction is one of the simplest multicomponent reactions. It used for synthesis of chiral α-amino nitriles. This reaction was carried out in the presence of catalytic amount of layered double hydroxides (LDHs). In this study, simple and practical method for the synthesis of this class of catalysts is provided. The results shown that LDH is the good heterogen catalyst for synthesis of c...

Chemically exfoliated ReS2 nanosheets.

The production of two-dimensional rhenium disulfide (ReS2) nanosheets by exfoliation using lithium intercalation is demonstrated. The vibrational and photoluminescence properties of the exfoliated nanosheets are investigated, and the local atomic structure is studied by scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The catalytic activity of the nanosheets in a hydrogen evolution reaction (HER)...
